Intro to Pair Support: Working with your Mentees

Pair support does not happen in a vacuum. As you begin work with your cohort, it is important to make time to get to know your mentees and for them to get to know you. To help you think about this, explore the first two articles on the Mentee-Specific Support Resources page:

  • The best practices list includes ideas culled from our PMs and our team over time. Which activities have you done before? As you prepare to go into the classroom, take time to think about your story of self and how you will introduce yourself to your cohort.

  • The Evidence-Based Mentee Support Strategies come from research on working with youth aged 12 – 18. What from the list resonates with you? What other approaches to working with youth would you like to consider?
