Effective use of Focus Finder is critical to effective execution of the Program Manger (PM) role. It helps ensure that they are dedicating their efforts where they are most needed, prevents pairs that don't obviously need support from "falling through the cracks" and helps to evenly distribute efforts across their caseload. The key to proficient use of the Focus Finder is partly built on a thorough understanding of the dat the interface presents. Each of the columns and the data they contain are described below.
- YTD Lessons Assigned - This column contains the number of lessons a pair has been assigned during the current program year. The value is pair-specific, meaning that only the number of lessons assigned to the current matched pair appear (i.e., If a mentee is re-matched at some point throughout the year, only the lessons they have been assigned with their CURRENT mentor will be represented here.)
- Mentee Completion % - This column contains the percentage of lessons assigned that the mentee in each pair has completed. (i.e., If a mentee has completed 5 of the 10 lessons assigned to them while matched with their current mentor, this column will contain a value of 50, as they have completed 50% of the lessons they have been assigned.)
- Mentor Completion % - This column contains the percentage of lessons assigned that the mentor in each pair has completed. (i.e., If a mentor has completed 6 of the 9 lessons assigned to them while matched with their current mentee, this column will contain a value of 66.6, as they have completed 66.6% of the lessons they have been assigned.)
- Mentor Completion % - This column contains the percentage of lessons assigned that BOTH the mentee AND mentor have completed together for each pair. (i.e., If a pair has completed 15 of the 25 lessons assigned to them, this column will contain a value of 60, as they have BOTH completed 60% of the lessons they have been assigned together.)
- Mentee-Mentor Difference - This column contains the difference between mentee and mentor completion percentages. Essentially, it is subtracting the mentee completion percentage from that of the mentor. As such, if the value is positive, the mentor has completed a greater percentage of lessons than the mentee and vice versa if the value is positive. Simply sorting the column using this field will bring the greatest differences of mentee/mentor completion % to the top of the list. This sorting function works on all columns.
- Total In-Person Meetings - This column contains the total number of in-person meetings the pair has completed to date during the current program year. This includes all meeting types (i.e., Formal curriculum meetings, Make-up meetings, Out-of-Program meetings).
- Mentee Touch Points - This column contains the total number of touch points that they PM has logged for the mentee in each pair.
- Mentor Touch Points - This column contains the total number of touch points that they PM has logged for the mentor in each pair.
