The Engagement by Cohort and Class S.T.E.V.E. dashboard visualizes online communication on the class level and in-person meeting frequency by cohort (if multiple cohorts are represented within their caseload). PMs use this element to determine how the behavior of individual cohorts/classes is impacting engagement trends within their caseload. By identifying which subsections of their caseload are performing well/poorly, the PM is afforded the opportunity to direct strategies where they will be most effective and continue employing existing efforts where they are already working. Each section of the element is described in detail below.
1 - Matched Pairs/Filters/Legend
This section displays the number of matched pairs based on the selection made using the Program Manager filter. By using any combination of filters, the data is manipulated to display only the desired information. It is worth noting that only pairs that have completed at least one lesson on the iMentor platform are represented here. This interface also includes a toggle filter (Pair, Mentee or Mentor) that changes the unit of measurement on the Lesson Engagement Benchmark chart. For example, by selecting "Mentees," the chart will show the percentage of mentees meeting the lesson benchmark in each class.
2 - In-Person Meeting Distribution
This section visualizes the percentage of matched pairs that have not met, met once, met twice, etc. Pairs that have met six or more times are grouped since the ultimate goal is to ensure that pairs meet six or more times by the end of the program year. This graph will always display percentages aggregated to the cohort level. The section is color coded in gradient fashion from red to yellow and finally green to indicate progress toward the programmatic benchmark of six or more in-person meetings. Throughout the year, managers and PMs can use this section to work toward the ultimate goal of six meetings per pair by ensuring that the red pieces of the pie get smaller as green sections grow.
3 - Online Communication Engagement by Class
This section presents the percentage of matched pairs that are meeting the online communication by class. Values are color coded according to whether the class is meeting (green), approaching (yellow) or not meeting (red) the program benchmark of 65%. Using this visualization, the PM can identify which classes are performing well and which are struggling. By exploring online communication on the class level, the PM can uncover classes that may require specialized intervention or collaboration with the school partner to overcome challenges resulting in low engagement. Conversely, the PM can consider the reasons why engagement is higher in one class versus another and work to leverage the success they are experiencing in one group with others that are struggling.
